Ep. 41 | Edinburgh Part II - The Palace of Holyroodhouse
the Palace of Holyroodhouse - the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland
Following on from our episode on Edinburgh Castle, this week we travel to the other end of the ‘Royal Mile’ for the second part of our two-part Edinburgh special.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse is the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland, and has served as such since the 16th century. King Charles III spends one week in residence at Holyrood at the beginning of each summer, where he carries out a range of official engagements and ceremonies.
The Palace adjoins the ruins of Holyrood Abbey, and sits on the edge of Holyrood Park with the famous Arthur’s Seat.
