Born and raised in a working-class neighbourhood in the North-East of England, Ben’s love for heritage was encouraged by weekend visits to country houses and through one of his first jobs as assistant to the renowned, late country house painter Jonathan Myles-Lea.

Ben has since ‘set up his stall’ as a serial podcaster and entrepreneur, working on many of the world’s biggest podcasts and producing high-profile podcast and talk-related events across the United Kingdom. 

In 2023, Ben came up with the idea of The Country House Podcast to blend his passions for podcasting and country houses, continuing Jonathan Myles-Lea’s legacy of advocating for heritage and beauty. Ben’s primary role is as producer but you can occasionally see him popping into episodes, sharing videos on social media and chairing our weekly Q&As.
